Car Seats Currently On Sale I Recommend For You

Whether you are expecting a baby – or already have a child. One of the most important products you will need is their car seat. It’s an item that is often forgotten about or that randomly comes with a travel system, but it’s an item that really does deserve more consideration.

After all, it’s the one item in the car that is responsible for keeping your child safe and saving your child’s life in the event of an accident.  :)

Group 0+ – The infant stage

The Besafe Izi Go is one of the car seats on my list. As with most things when I recommend car seats – I look at the crash test results they have had – and if they have done well in “above standard testing”. The ADAC did test the izi Go and gave it a nice good result:

  • Very low loads in the frontal crash
  • Low-stress values in the side impact crash

So it’s definitely a car seat I recommend. It’s also in the category “affordable” – which means that at the moment you can *get it for under £100.

The Besafe Izi Go Modular i-Size is another infant car seat from BeSafe that I recommend. It has also been tested by the ADAC. It was tested in 2016 and I wrote about that here if you wish to have a

look at that list.

  • Very low risk of injury in frontal crash
  • Very low risk of injury in side impact crash

It’s not of the most affordable infant car seats, but you can *get it for £199.99 and it uses the Modular Isofix base – which is the same base as the BeSafe izi Modular extended rear facing car seat uses.

Britax Baby Safe i-Size Bundle Storm Grey
Britax Baby Safe i-Size Bundle Storm Grey

The Britax Baby Safe i-Size is the last of the infant car seats on the list for today. The amazing thing with this car seat is not only it’s good ADAC results.

  • Very low risk of injury in a frontal crash
  • Low risk of injury in a side impact crash

But also it’s patented lie flat technology. When you adjust the headrest height the lying position adjusts as well, so for the smallest babies the seat is quite lie flat – and as baby grows and the headrest moves upwards – the lie flat technology adjusts to a more upright angle. Using this car seat on the Baby Safe i-Size FLEX Base is even better, as this specific base will let you adjust the angle of the infant car seat in the car by adjusting a lever on the base. This lever lifts the base angle and will always keep the infant car seat at the correct angle. This is especially useful in cars with those horrid sloped back seats.  In other words, it’s one of the most ergonomic car seats on the market. Right now you can get the *Britax Baby Safe i-Size Bundle (including the FLEX base) for only £269.

Extended Rear Facing Seats

Axkid Minikid Rear Facing Car Seat Black
Axkid Minikid Rear Facing Car Seat Black

The Axkid Minikid is a long time favourite on the car seat market. Rear facing from 9-25kg it’s  one of the longest lasting car seats on the market if not THE longest lasting ERF seat. We wrote an unofficial review of this car seat some years ago now, but you can see it here.

  • PLUS Tested

Right now you can *get it for £349.99.

The BeSafe izi Combi X4 ISOfix is suitable from 6 months old to approx 4 years old. It’s max weight limit is 18kg. It’s got a nice tall harness height and BeSafe claims it to be the exact same seat as the

BeSafe izi Kid X2 iSize when used rear facing. You can *buy it now for £349. Even though it can forward face – I do recommend that you use this car seat only rear facing as this is the safest way for all children to travel!

BeSafe Izi Modular With Isofix Base Sunset Melange
BeSafe Izi Modular With Isofix Base Sunset Melange

The BeSafe izi Modular iSize. I mentioned it further up with the ‘izi Go Modular’ infatn car seat. So this is the toddler extended rear facing car seat that fits on the very same base as the izi Go Modular (izi Modular isofix base).  It was ADAC tested in 2016 and it’s mentioned in my article on the subject.

  • Low risk of injury during a frontal crash
  • Very low risk of injury in a side impact

You can buy the bundle (includes the base) *for only £349.98. Even though it can forward face – I do recommend that you use this car seat only rear facing as this is the safest way for all children to travel!

Britax Romer Dualfix Flame Red
Britax Romer Dualfix Flame Red

The Britax Dualfix is a 360 degree swivel car seat that is suitable from birth all the way to 18kg. It’s a car seat that  tends to be a little on the low side height wise – so I don’t recommend this car seat for children above the 50th percentile for height (or weight). If you have a tall child you would be better looking at the Minikid really – or the X4. The Dualfix was tested by the ADAC:

  • Low risk of injury in frontal crash
  • Average risk of injury in side impact crash

Which? released a review of the car seat – but Britax responded.

Right now you can *get it for £320. Though it can forward face – I would advise you to use it only rear facing as this is the safest way for all children to travel!
