The Joie Tilt has been on the market for quite some time, but it was sold as a rear facing 0+ seat (up to 13KG).
Now, you can use the Joie Tilt rear facing until the seat is fully outgrown at 18KG!
Hight wise it is outgrown the same as any infant car seat due to the recline, which is when the top of the head reaches the top of the shell.
Atm. there isn’t any stock of the new seats (like with the Joie), but a phone call to one of the retailers stocking them should let you in on when they are expecting new deliveries. The new stock is then most likely the new seats, and as with the Joie Stages, the box will be clearly marked as Rear Facing to 18kg!
Where to buy:
- Mothercare & Babies R Us
- Kiddiecare
- Argos
- Affordable Baby Care
Cost:
- RRP £100
Note that some of these retailers have not updated their info on the website, you might even meet someone on the floor stating they had no idea. This is too common, but rest assured! It is RF to 18KG now, just have a look on Joie’s own page here: http://www.joiebaby.com/tilt-4

Now for the new launches in the Joie series!
Joie Steadi is bound to hit the stores any day now!
It is similar to the Stages, but with a belt path more similar to that of the Tilt.
This is another Birth to 18KG rear facing seat! It seams Joie has become our lifesaver and lifeline in the world of cheap ERF seats!! I couldn’t be happier even if I tried! haha
The RRP is said to be approx £130, but as it’s not out yet nothing is set in stone. Stay tuned!
The fact that Joie is releasing all these new seats rear facing to 18KG for under £150 is going to save lives. I am so happy that we finally have a cheap market available for those families that don’t have much to come by and would therefore have to buy a crappy FF seat.
Remember; Rear Facing is Always safer then Forward Facing, even if the seat is only £100!!!
***
Joie Anchor is the name of Joie’s first ERF ISOFIX car seat!
The seat is a base plus seat system, so takes the Joie Gem (0+) as well as Anchor (0+/1).
The seat has a rebound bar for rear facing. By having this the seat can sit up to create a gap between the vehicle seat and car seat.
It’s due to release in Jan 2014 exclusive to Mothercare!
Prices are not confirmed but it’s thought to be around £100-£120 for the base and around £150-£180 for the Anchor seat itself.
So there we have them! Joie is really trying to make Rear Facing available for everyone, and they are doing a massively good job with it! I am also happy to see that they are in fact throwing the word out there about ERF and that Rear Facing is the safest option for your child!!
/3 cheers for Joiebaby!
Follow ERF Misson on Facebook for more updates as we get nearer to release.
Thank you to Rear Facing – The Way Forward for letting me use the photos!! x
